President's Message
Welcome! And thank you for being a part of our San Jose ASHRAE community by checking out our page. I am Rob, and I am excited to serve as the San Jose Chapter president for the 2026-2027 year.
After last year’s focus on community, family, and real human connection, the chapter saw a year of incredible growth in involvement, and participation, attendance. I want to thank our outgoing leadership, volunteers, sponsors, and members for helping rebuild momentum and significantly increase participation at our in-person events.
Society definitely noticed at the 2026 Region X Regional Conference, awarding the San Jose ASHRAE chapter with:
- Region X Chapter of the Year
- FOMO Award (YEA Event to most likely to create FOMO) - Janan Mirza
- K-12/STEM Leadership Award - Sargon Ishaya
- Francis G Brown Award of Publishing Excellence - Cat Wood
- PAOE Special Citation - Jacob Saxinger
- RP Silver Treasury Ribbon and Endowed Funds, New Scholarship Full Circle, and Fundraising Goal Awards - Daisy Ruiz
Following the highly decorated last year, we plan to maintain our strong emphasis on in person engagement, with a focus on care woven throughout the year. As an organization that is so dependent on volunteer work, it is important that we take care of ourselves and each other.
We aim to deliver relevant technical programs, well-organized events, and meaningful opportunities for professional growth and connection. We will also work to engage new members, students, emerging professionals, and others across the Bay Area HVAC&R community.
Last year demonstrated what is possible when our members participate and support one another. I look forward to working with all of you to turn that renewed engagement into lasting chapter strength and make the year ahead productive and rewarding.
With love and care,
Rob Potter
2026-2027 San Jose Chapter President
